The Royal Oak Stafford

Just a quick note that theres gonna be a soul/motown night coming up at the Royal Oak at Rising Brook in Stafford starting the 3rd Saturday in August.

These nights are free to get in, so come along and support these nights otherwise they just die and fade away...................

Also, dont for get the longest running soul night in Stafford is on Saturday 14th July 2007 ay The Stafford Rangers FC.... only a 5er on the door with a late bar til 12:30am

I've been in a couple of times over the decades but can't say there's ever been anything to make me rush back. Bit like The Wildwood in the sense that is just a basic locals pub so unless you live nearby the you wouldn't really use it.

I know I've been in there at least three times, but it made little impact on me, to the extent that I have no memory of the inside of the building at all.

I certainly haven't been in there this century, which is why, not having seen the plaque commemorating the event, I was unaware of its association with @Lucy's scholastic culmination.

And like The Wildwood in the sense that they're both 'Sizzling' branded dining pubs of Mitchells and Butlers.

Don't you know that the Oak's a pub where men are men and most of the women are as well 😁
No, I've very rarely used the pub, not even during the three years I lived within half a mile of it.
But if "most of the women are as well" they wouldn't have needed to add the "WO"!
