Was there prior notice given for the BRC?Before the building is demolished a prior notification of demolition or planning application for the demolition of the building is required to be submitted. Nothing has been submitted to the council.
I suspect some demolition works are taking place but not to the building itself.

The demolition was in 1991, I think.Yes, numerous planning applications for the redevelopment of the site from the mid 1990s onwards.
The demolition was in 1991, I think.
I seem to remember it being done on a Sunday, as there were rumours that the office building was in the process of being 'listed'.I've been informed by someone that those that demolished the BRC were fined / prosecuted. I assume that's because it was demolished without the required contents in place. I don't know....I was still in primary school in the early 90s.
Mr Hood had left it to rot. I seem to remember that went in a day, he didn't wait for night time!Meece House was demolished in an unauthorised manner a few years later - it was listed, I believe, though in a poor state by that point, and the fine was £3,000, plus £2,000 costs.
I was there a few times in the years before it was demolished - I would have kept my distance on a windy day...Mr Hood had left it to rot. I seem to remember that went in a day, he didn't wait for night time!
