Castletown or Oxford Gardens, or is the most important thing simply being on the right side of the 'Welcome to Stafford' signs? We shall soon find out!

that's a very restrictive poll :?:

what about walton? wildwood? weeping cross? or are you moving or something and these two places are your two options, so you're just looking for opinions of them?

i'll reserve my vote for once these important questions have been answered :v:

Well having only lived on Oxford Gardens and not in Castle Town I can't make a comparison. What I can tell you is Peter James Court is better than all of them :D (I lived there for the last 18 months). Castle Town does look pretty attractive, its a nice, well maintained area, with great ammenities and MyCult.

Half the population of the forum, you mean.
And the Railway.
And MyCult.

How do I edit this?
I voted Oxford Gardens, but since it's the only bit of Stafford I've lived in there's not much I can compare it to....friendlier than Liverpool was anyway.

Too restrictive to vote on, I mean the're alright but,
Coton hill is the place the nobs live I.E. me.

PS by nobs I mean nobility, not wot you commoners thought =D

Well...if you look at the sign opposite the Castle Tavern which points to the industrial estate over the little bridge across the railway tracks it says 'Castle Town'. I've got the original deeds for my house, handwritten with the original wax seal, and it says Castletown all the way through it.

Sometimes the Council don't know areas in their county do they!

Some years ago there used to be a sign that said Castletown, but I don't know what happened to it, perhaps Sofa has it stashed away! lol.

Yes us too, when we bought our Villa de Oxly Gardens we were handed deeds dating back to 1890s, scared the bejeebers outta us, like we'd been handed exam papers to exams we'd not yet sat. Very interesting reading though, got names and whole lotta history. And the house number changed twice before we moved in.

With the business I work in I have to go through loads of title registers and there are some really great charges on some properties, one of the best to date was a place in wiltshire where the owner of the house could only have extra windows added that were within sight of the mayor's office window in the town hall!

Thanks for pointing that out - such painful ignorance clearly marks a distinct lack of taste;)

I lived in Oxford Gardens for some time, and all around that part of town, well, 2 x Sandon Road and 1 x Peel Terrace, and it is a fantastic part of the world. However, nowhere has ever come close to Castletown.

I live off Sandon Road, apparently once the site of a shoe factory. I'm a bit ignorant as to other areas as I have only lived in Stafford for 18 months. I grew up in Sheffield but would hate to have to go back there now. I find Stafford people friendly and helpful, it's not like that in a city.
