I was on my 2nd pint so i'd guess 7.30ish, certainly before Mr Bott stood on the bar and said a few well chosen words.......

Amongst the many old faces i caught up with on weds night was a chap who's name escapes me who regaled me with the plans for his forthcoming nuptials. Seems he's heading for some gaff in the lake district and by all account he's splashed out over 25k! If i had that sort of dosh there's a few other things i'd do before getting spliced......

It could be coincidence of course but I have an invite to a large 'happening' oop lakenorth with Stafford connections

The figure mentioned to me was closer to 60k however

Never mind the 'booths', is there any dart board action?
There is a dart bord mitch; just where it was when I was the teams unofficial moscot for their White Cross Darts League team! Played Steve Beaton there many moons ago. He stuffed me of course, as he had been the World Champ' the year before! Ironically his driver was better than him on the night, and he thrashed us all as well, even Steve Bentley, who was red hot at the time!

Phil 'The Power' Taylor, got revenge for us all last night, when he stuffed Mr Beaton, 13-4! http://www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk/sport/Darts-Taylor-powers-quarter-finals/article-2448782-detail/article.html

I must get round to tagging Dave Askey, RIP, on the facebook site. A legend to me and my mates, he used to sit by the bar, and drink out of his own pewter pot, and be consistently miserable and cantancerous. The lads all went to the races one day in a mini-bus, for a jolly. Dave got an attack of the coughs, as he often did, and Martin Whiston (Is Tagged!) offered him a clean hanky, as he looked like he was struggling. Dave managed to clear the whole results of his coughing fit, including sputum, spit, snot, and god knows what, into the hanky! He then offered it back to Martin! :barf: Who gagging declined the kind offer! :urgh:

Neil Wedge, who was there last night, will never forgive himself for Jinxing Dave. He went to the Sun for a night, in the 80's. Dave looked in a terrible condition. "He'll be dead tomorrow" he told the barmade. Returning the next evening, he was horrfied, and a little spooked, to find his prediction had proved true! :soz:

(Does he ever shut up? I think I prefered it when he was just obsessed with himself, his injury, and that feckin' walk! Ed[b/])

It probably went up a grand with each pint sunk, the way he was knocking them back it could well have reached £100k by closing time......

If its the same person we are talking about he is marrying a former page 3 stunner, although I dont think she has stunned now for a decade

I declined the offer of a helicopter fearing the pacemaker might run on overtime

I was once stunned by a girl I went to school with, but she got away with it, not least because her Dad was a teacher..
