Just saw a weather forecast for this area for 80 mph plus winds at about midday Friday. Storm Eunice !!! (should be called Storm Daenerys Targaryen.) That's not just going to test my aerials, that's going to test everything. I'm betting on power cuts too. 😨

Dudley (pronounced Dudloi, I've got family in the Black Country and if I don't pronounce it that way I get called a posh bastard ... and I wholly object to the word posh !!) is just warming us up for Eunice Targaryen. :heyhey:

PS .... they've upped the predicted winds for Storm Eunice Targaryen down this way to possibly 100 mph. Pulling a f****** ton !!!!

PS PS .... did you know that the mathematics of chaos was actually born out of the study of weather ....

My wife's from Sedgley in the Borough of Dudley.
Hubby is from the roughest street in Friar Park in Wednesbury , so his relatives in Dudley consider themselves posh compared to there. No one batted an eyelid as his road was sealed off by cops preventing me from driving home one afternoon, as a gunfight between houses on the corner of his road was taking place...
Saying that , when me and son last drove on a diversion through Coseley in Dudley area last year, we made sure the car doors were locked as even the binmen looked like the mafia as they sat on the bins whilst doing their round!

.....and yet for all the stories you hear about the Black Country, I've had some of the best nights out in my life down that way. Go figure ....

I believe Mr @Withnail in his official capacity. Looked a bit cold and wet without a coat though. (I'm probably wrong, and was someone else!)

... an Edward VII letter box, still in use until a few years ago, when the Blue Tits finally won the battle.

And this odd feature, next to the altar in a ruined abbey.

The 'bowl' at the bottom seems to have a drain hole.
