Took a walk up by Tamar Lake this morning. South West Water putting in some maintenance on the dam (good time to do it there's so much dam on show.) They've also laid a surface pipeline from the upper lake to the lower lake, which isn't a reservoir, and appear to be pumping water from bottom to top. Tamar upper is a big time fishing attraction and I think they're worried about the fish, and trying to top it up a bit to prevent damage. The pipe comes up through the insides of the dam (I'd love to get in there and have a look) and then out the back as you can see.
They're running around like blue arse flies so I think they're worried. :hmm:

The weather forecast for next week's Paignton holiday.. a whole week of rain , thunderstorms and localised flooding.
Will still go in the outside pool, just watch out for that thunder bolt and lightening which is bound to have already got me targeted in its programming 😂

A Norton bike on the pub wall , and our pub table made out of real bellows
Don't know if you got the model number of the Norton. Looks like a single to me, possibly a 500 ES2. The reason I ask is I had one of those as a student ... used to tool up and down between Stafford and Edinburgh. Leaked oil everywhere, sounded like the coming of the dark one, but went like the clappers.
What I remember most is if you didn't remember to retard the timing when kicking it up, it would wrap your right leg around your neck !!

I'll find out next time we're in if I can. I thought of you @BobClay as soon as I saw it. Remember a photo of you on a bike on here and was wondering whether same type.
I don't know what sort the motorbike was on my dads motorbike & side car he had in the 60's. But got memories of being sent around the streets looking for old matchsticks to take on our 6 week camping trip through france & spain in it, to ' tickle' it as my dad used to say to get started.

Tickling the carb. Old Brit bikes used to have a small button on the Amal carburettor which allowed you to fill up the flood chamber. I can't remember what the photo of me on a bike was, but I suspect considerably more modern, My old Norton dated from the mid 50's, and my student days were mid to late sixties.

If I remember correctly that's in the Spinning Wheel on the front isn't it?

They used to have some really good live bands on but don't know if they still do.

This wasn't one of the crap Paington pubs I referred to in an earlier post.
Yeah, in here at the moment ( after a good night out in Brixham....was aiming for a night out in Torquay, but the bus was going the other way ..😂)
Got Karaoke on tonight , but a good night with proper amateurs having a go, rather than a competition of professional artists.

Only a few minutes from our apartments, so not far to stagger back :)

Still got some good live bands on @Thehooperman

When tropical hurricanes start reaching up toward Canada, you have to start thinking something bad is going on with the climate. (Unless you're Nigel TWATBAG Farage.) :ohno:
