Tooth extraction.

I'm going try them all. I need help with the pain asap x

Call 111, they’ll refer you, usually you won’t actually get through to the community practice they give you but you’ll be on the system or whatever I guess.

At that point, you can call up and say you’ve gotten a referral from 111 but the number they gave isn’t picking up (if that is true, it was for me) and they’ll potentially be able to take you as an emergency appointment. This is basically what happened to me in 2021, if you can say you’re flexible and can wait around for a gap that helps too. Despite what it says online Friar Terrace aren’t open on Saturdays.

If you can take ibuprofen, turns out 800mg every 6 hours is safe for short term use… I had my old dentist’s personal number so dropped him a message late last year when the tooth flared up one Sunday evening, he explained my tooth had gone non-vital and it’d be a root or pull. He also told me 800mg ibuprofen and it made the world of difference tbh.

Has anyone had a tooth extracted that has had a root canal and crown done on it? My dentist won't do the extraction says a root canal can be difficult to extract and wants to refer me to an oral surgeon, that is fine, I guess but was wondering if the tooth could be extracted in the chair as I do not want to have to go into the hospital under anesthesia if not needed.

Odd, it just puts things in your roots so it should be removable?

“If the root fails we can extract” was the line from my dentist. I went with a pull, because a root is destined to fail and I wasn’t gonna pay for a Band 3 just for a crown.

I've had an impacted wisdom tooth removed in hospital with local anaesthetic without problem so you could discuss it with the surgeon. Mind you, I think my hospital file has a top doc saying not to give me general anaesthetic!

I was referred to the hospital for an extraction because the numbing injections don't work on me. My dentist said she had tried everything she could, but because i have impaired neurological messages from having Leukodystrophy, she thought that it was best if i had it out under General anaesthetic.

The hospital didn’t agree and sent me back to the dentist - they then referred me to the riverside dental practice NHS partnership.

They were the best – they used to laughing gas, (nitrous oxide) I never felt a thing – had two teeth extracted on two sperate appointments. I would highly recommend the team at riverside for anyone that has any problems with filings, extraction or teeth surgery.
