Thought i would start a thread of recommendations for holidays/ overnight stays local or further afield.
so here's mine,
just back from France and would like to recommend http://www.lavieillefermefrance.com/ we have stayed here twice now as our stop over point before heading south. It is bed and breakfast but its possible to book for an evening meal. I have to say I'm not much of an eater but my husband fancies himself as a bit of a foodie and is not easily impressed yet he chose to come back here this year despite it not being on our direct path through.
The food is fantastic.
They are an English couple with young children and the evening meal is spent with their family and any other guests if there are any, around a large table. its very sociable and you are treated almost as part of their extended family.
