You could mention Jimmy Savile, wrestling in Eastgate Street in 1967

I did

But I think I got away with it

I was wondering, the other day, upon the fact that there are really quite a lot of extraordinarily idiotic people in the world.

Lord knows i'm at least one of them.

But one wondered, what with the extent of the 'fandom' of 'Jim' and the whole 'fixing it' of his ways, that there is someone out -> 'there', more likely than not, that has taken the extraordinary step of expressing their 'fandom' via the medium of tattoo. Like, actually engraving his likeness on their body, that sort of thing.

I dare say this is old hat, and has probably even been reported upon, but the realisation that this may be so gave me a sense of almost overbearing sadness.

Now then now then

It's time you changed your maroon horse hair shorts for some budgie smugglers, your tag partner is itching to jump in

World is full of idiots, but we need 'em iot keep the gene pool full of surprises and hence fit for purpose. I find muttering the best way to deal with the issue.

Re tats: probably not. JS was an object of adulation in the days before tattoos became a fashion statement, I think. In them days they were generally sported by matelots, ex-cons and the yakuza, not by every young adult who'd taken an unadventurous commoditised trip to New Zealand or Glastonbury and done a sticking yer tongue out selfie.

I know there are those who are fond of tattoos on here. I didn't mean any of you. All of you lot are, obviously, sparkling originals and are treasured by all of us. But I probably did mean Sam sodding Cam, and I'm not at all sure about some of the arms on display at the Test Match.

I eagerly await your next novel

One of those days when it pays to have an unusual name.

There are some Twitter veterans on here - I have a weird issue, I wonder if anybody has any advice?

A couple of weeks ago, I cleared the Chrome cache - since then, Twitter has only got as far as "Something went wrong - Try again" - everything works as normal - this has happened on two machines - a third, uncleared one still has Twitter functioning OK.

Twitter clearly recognises it's me, as the avatar appears.

I've restarted, signed out/in again - all to no avail.

I've just run CCleaner, with no effect, either.

Anybody else had this issue?
