The leader chappie was on the wireless this morning banging on about British jobs for British workers blah blah blah etc etc. Seems that he believes that his info will make "people very angry" so how will he or we for that matter know that some people are "very angry" and if they are indeed "very angry" at what level does their anger have to be and how many have to be "very angry" to actually matter of make a blind bit of difference?.........

In this Country you could put a blind, one armed chimp up as a General Election candidate in most constituencies and so long as it wearing either a Tory or Labour rosette it will get elected.
The likes of UKIP and the Lib Dems will only ever pick up the protest "none of the above" brigade who are never enough in number to make any actual difference.

UK democracy is a sham and the electorate by and large are dyed in the wool misguided robots.

As most companies these days are owned by bigger ones from all over the world, what constitutes as, a 'British job' these days?

The Angry Brigade resigned themselves to fact they were the angry ones and all they could really count on for support was The Slightly Cross Brigade.......

This is a grave problem

Particularly for the Associated Newspaper group

Who love to hate anyone who is not in their making

So

Whilst the Daily Mail loves to hate immigration/asylum/johnnie foreigner

It may also now understand that - due to a demographic that shows the UK to be a bunch of dependees ( old uns ) and reliant on younger folk to work and pay taxes - it may have to admit - admittedly reluctantly - that the UK actually needs some young foreign types -- approx. 6,000,000 -- to balance the welfare status quo

True up to a point. Its true that we are an aging population with a decreasing tax base as our demographic becomes ever more "top heavy" with pension, old benefit & NHS hogging people at the top and less productivity in the younger age groups to keep it all going. We don't need younger foreign types in the numbers that you suggest however, with currently upwards of 1m young people un or under-employed there is huge scope for being able to fill our jobs market "in house"

Of course it won't happen because Johnny Briton who is 18-30 wants to exercise their "ooooman right" & go to University to study celebrity footballers and won't take a job on graduation unless it is at least £35K a year and offers fast track promotion to Chairman of the Board. Otherwise they'll throw their teddies from the pram and henceforth procreate in order to get fast tracked onto the social housing and benefit ladder.

Ours is as much a cultural problem and a misguided belief that the World owes us a living as anything else.

Surely if we have 1m unemployed yoofs then thats 1m less people we require to join our merry band? Unless of course we require skilled professionals. Of course since the Labour policy of half the population goes to uni came into effect many jobs now require a degree where a few O levels would previously have sufficed, plus of course our unemployed total is really all those without a job plus all those at uni doing a shit degree. They merely moved the goalposts to count towards unemployment, but luckily they have restored the balance by adding to our pension age.

Do you really want to be attended to in your 'care home' by Wayne and Waynetta - or would you prefer Pavel and Francesca?

But what's stopping Wayne and Waynetta doing that care job?
Good luck to 'Pavel and Francesca' et al, but it seems odd that we are importing labour when we have so much youth unemployment.
And as an aside, how do people square their relaxed views on immigration with their opposition to building extra housing around Stafford and whilst I accept an ageing population and more one person households make up a big slice of the extra housing in the UK, net migration between 100,000 and 200,000 per year is going to undoubtedly increase the need for extra housing. The same applies for the pressure on our public services.

Over the last 30 years, dare I say it, the 'protestant work ethic' has been mocked and eroded from the character of the UK. Successive governments have failed working people with means testing benefits that discourage saving and providing for one self, and have created an open ended welfare system that discouraged coming off benefits. The ideals of a cradle to the grave welfare state are very noble but fails to acknowledge human nature. Too many people take out without putting enough back in which undermines the foundations of a welfare state.
I hate to tar every one with the same brush but the Waynes and Waynettres of this country have usually been bought up in a non working household and as mentioned before I would guess just as the majority children from professional backgrounds(doctors, accountants, teachers etc) go on to be professionals themselves , the offspring of the long term welfare dependants go on to do the same.
I hate to see the waste of youth and ability and reject the acceptance that nothing will change. What is needed is 'tough love', with the state helping people to have the right skills and attitude but also make it quite clear a life of welfare dependency is not an option.
