NEWS: HISTORIC POTENTIAL UNEXPLODED DEVICE IN NEWCASTLE
We are responding to a report of a potential unexploded bomb in Ryecroft Close, Newcastle.
We have contacted colleagues in the military's bomb disposal squad who will attend as soon as possible.
A 30 metre cordon has been put in place around the address.
Please avoid Newcastle town centre, if possible.

UPDATE ON NEWCASTLE SUSPECT DEVICE:
The device near St Gerges Church in Newcastle has been checked by specialists who have confirmed that it is not a bomb.
Thank you for your patience whilst we dealt with the incident.
