Universal benefits

Because the bastards at Capita lie to them about their so called assessment of disabilities.
The benefit system is massively skewed in favour of unemployed 16 year olds getting their unemployed 17 year old girlfriends (both from single parent families with multiple children with multiple different fathers) pregnant do they can move out into a SRH flat paid for by housing benefit & universal credit.
They'd get about £1200/month between them, assuming 1 kid and a rent of £600. Once bills are paid about £100/week to live on for 2 adults and one child or a fiver per person per day. Not a life I'm jealous of if I'm honest

Also, just a thought, but you have to be in education til you're 18 now so aren't they all unemployed? Best many can do is an apprenticeship, which is worse than the benefits!

I’m catching up on this thread a year later - the benefit system is still in chaos - disabled people are still all get turned down for disability benefits even if they have and incurable illness that limits their capability.

The fight goes on for Justice. I have written to our latest MP about the Capita reports being full of inaccuracies and the Job Centre staff trying to make sick people work – wonder if I’ll even get a reply?

The latest information - provided to me by three different clients who are all really ill with serious incurable health conditions have been told they must look for work and go for interviews and give work a try because who know they might get better if they make an effort.

It seems a doctor’s opinion of them being too sick to work counts for nothing these days.

I am outraged on their behalf. I’m still running my project at rising brook – challenging benefit decisions and we have so much more debt work after this last year.
Page hoik.
