Any probs in ST17 tonight?

S
They have a page you can go to check the status at your postcode. I know because i check it on average once a month when my broadband goes down for the weekend. Just google virgin media status or something to that effect.

I had no problems with broadband in 1998
Nor did I in 1997, 1996 or 1955

But I did have problems dropping out

And with the

TV and broadband issues tonight in ST17. Engineer is "on the way" so it'll be tomorrow when it's fixed I imagine.

More like by the weekend. They send their engineers from china. Ive seen "an engineer" is on their way for over 3 days. The fix time also keeps rolling back as it nears. My broadband drops out on average once a month for a couple of days. Ive given up ringing them to complain as im always lied too and told there isnt a problem even though their website says therw is a known fault. Ive also been promised a refund for loss of service on many occasion and never recieved a penny off my bill.

What is virgin broadband then? Is that Internet using the phone line? Is that because you're not in a cable area?
I've got virgin cable internet but don't have the virgin tv as I prefer sky tv.
I've been tempted a few times to move my internet when I see the low prices at plusnet etc but I never quite make the shift as my cable internet is so reliable compared to the BB my sister has from Sky using the telephone line. I don't think I'd change now. As John says Internet is more important than washing lol. I'd go to the launderette. It's uproar in my family if the Internet is down lol. Altho I could go to Costa or McDonalds but not as convenient.

I was referring to my virgin cable connection, Broadband just refers to "fast" internet. I suppose it's useless term now as I can't imagine there's many on narrowband dial up.

Gosh I remember until my sis moved from Brum in 2007 they were still dialling up freeserve internet lol! That makes me feel old.
Must admit I'm not a fan of my sisters sky BB in the new place as that's using the telephone line and isn't fast. There's no virgin cable where she lives. They don't live in Stafford. So I'm sold on cable really.
I'm in ST17 and didn't have any internet problems last night.
I've not had many problems over the years since I had it installed in 2002. Once or twice its been a pain when it was a few days to get fixed but generally it's been ok. Once or twice in 12 years isn't so bad really. Sis has had regular internet disruption problems compared to me.

Really? Ours is crap. Goes down regularly and on Tuesday completely crashed - we've just had a new router delivered.

I have only had 3 instances of loss of internet service from Virgin/ntl/Comtel since 1999, two of which have been in the last year. I did lose my telephone service from mid-morning Christmas Day until the day after Boxing Day one year but that was probably 13-14 years ago.

Other than that, Virgin/ntl/Comtel have been pretty reliable for me. The original Superhub I have is showing signs of strain with all the devices we now have connected to it.

They were quite reliable about sending a friend of mine regular bills for a terminated contracts, for services to premises that other people were then paying for at the same time - for months on end.

Their customer services are pretty poor. Luckily since getting the Samsung HDTV box back in 2010 I haven't had the 'pleasure' of contacting them very often. The old Pace TV boxes were shocking pieces of kit.

Amongst many other things, they sent him two bills, dated the same day, for the same fictional account, for two different amounts. I had to deal with it for him, as ringing from Prague and being on hold for three-quarters of an hour is not a viable tactic. My final conversation with them was me making a promise that, if they persisted in any way, then I would go round to both premises, rip their stuff out and throw it in the street. I asked him to confirm that he had recorded the contract that I had just agreed with him...

Odd, some others have had complete different experiences, we've always had ntl/virgin always been fine, I'm sure you'll be fine too, perry at least you can change too, if you find it terrible.
