I'm in particularly trying to find the mega common fake anti-virus programs in particular of the "cyber security" brand - Personal Security, Personal Anti-Virus, Antivirus 2010 etc etc. I come across them so often on peoples computers - and now that I WANT one to install itself on my system, I can't even find it!

Surf the web normally = get swamped by viruses
Go looking for viruses = clean system

I'll be damned!! lol

Cheers... basically any of the rogue malware's that want your credit card info and stop you doing much else with your PC. Other similar guises are Personal Antivirus, Antivirus 2009 etc.
Anything that puts a cheap tacky looking shield icon on the desktop... you know the kind I mean ;)

Basically it's the type causing peeps the most annoyance at the moment, and although i've pro-actively recommended AVG for the last couple of years, it seems to allow some of these to slip on through. At the moment I'm reading reviews which make me believe that the latest version of Avast handles them well but would like to test it. I know Malwarebytes is excellent at removal of them, but the free version does not perform automatic scans and I want to give people something which nips it in the but the second it rears up. :)

Any help appreciated as always!
