WANTED: Cider press

A mate of mine is looking for a cider press, as he has an abundance of apples which cannot go to waste. The fella on Eastgate St sells small ones which are quite expensive, so if anyone has an old one, or knows of someone else with one, he'd be very interested. I think Doc's the most likely source, but any info gratefully received..

sounds stupid but i think i once saw a tv program where they used a wood chipper to shred the apples then put them in a hessien sack and squeezed the juice out of them that way.

Staffs wildlife trust used to have one and you might be able to boroow it for a donation. They are suprisingly expesive pieces of kit though.

yes but just think of all the pennies you will save once you have your own cider. mmm...cider.

i nearly went blind buying and then drinking some local cider from some bearded yokel on the 10 mile trek into glastonbury one year.

Have you tried ebay?
He was bidding for one on ebay, but the price went through the roof so he gave up.
