A strange request I know, but I need a laptop card that leaves a parallel printer port sticking out from the side of the machine. Does anybody have one please even just for a few hours loan??
I can get one on eBay for around £20 but it's too much money to waste if it won't do what I'm hoping, so therefore could do with borrowing one first to see.

Any help greatly appreciated guys!

I've probably got his entirely wrong but on the off chance it may help, I have a USB to Parallel cable which I use to connect my Epson SC3000 to my laptop.

If I've got it entirely wrong, as least you know where there is one if you need it. If not, you are welcome to borrow it.

Good luck in the hunt.

Thanks for the offer ecker but the program I am running does not recognise USB adapted one's which is why I need to try a cardbus one.

Long story short it's for my Christmas animated lighting controller board which connects to a parallel port. last year I used a PC tower with parallel, but this year I need to use a laptop and the one I have has a faulty parallel port!! Everything else works fine. Aint it sods law? ;)

Took the plunge and possibly wasted £20 in the end, based on the fact that I could have returned it under distance selling regulations ;)
It has worked as I hoped after a little tweaking so my problem is solved.

thanks again Ecker for your thought and input, and of course the offer to help.

:)

This years show will be transmitted on a legal range FM transmitter for people to tune in on their car stereo's.... so hopefully the show will run pretty much all night long and people can catch it anytime. I'll update the actual thread nearer the time.
DJWells - check out the video on www.staffordlights.co.uk if you want to know what it's all about :)

Blimey - it's only July! ;)
I shall put a notice on the forum calendar when I'm totally sorted for this years shows - still sorting out the best possible transmission equipment etc and also attempting to program some other songs.
