[Wed 11 Apr 2012] Stafford GP Professional Cycle Race

The 2012 Stafford GP is the third running of the professional cycle race in the town centre that was started in 2010. The inaugural race was won by Olympic rider Ed Clancy whilst last year it was Aussie Dean 'The Duke' Windsor who took the honours. The race is run on a circuit around the town centre that takes just over 1 minute to complete, making a great spectacle for spectators as they see the race many times over the course of its 1 hour duration.

This years race will be top of the bill at the end of a programme of events that sees Schools, Under 16's and handcyclists take to the streets before the main event with the professionals.

Join us down in the town centre on the evening of the race, and if you can't don't forget to follow us on twitter @staffordgp and via Stafford FM, our media partners for the event
