Had to watch a rerun of 'Bad Santa' on Sky tonight, my favourite Christmas film. Billy Bob Thornton is hilarious as the most gross Santa Claus you can imagine. Very good sound track and some wonderful lines: "They dug 11 bullets out of me, but they say they all missed my vital organs ... except my liver, which was f****d anyway."

Finished 'Midnight Mass' the other day, pretty good. As every said, very Stephen King-ish.

Finally on Squid Game now, after *everyone* has been talking about it for a month!

Have downloaded No Time to Die from Sky, viewing cost £16.99. Might seem pricey but given the nearest decent cinema to me is 30 miles away, that's a gallon of juice there and back before I start, so I figure it's comparable costing. It's in UHD and I'm going to enjoy it on a 65 inch screen UHD telly, sat in a nice reclining chair with a couple of cold beers (can pause it whenever I need more, or to pump some ballast) and avoiding an hours driving.
It might not be the cinema but it'll do.

Finished 'Squid Game' the other night, it is indeed very good as everyone said. Hope they do a second season (though I think that has been announced already, can't remember).

Started watching the other Korean show that's blown up on Netflix, 'Hellbound', but that veers a bit too much into fantasy territory for my tastes.

Will probably start 'The Handmaid's Tale' season 2 soon, took a break after finishing season 1. I'm always a bit nervous when a show goes beyond the source material (as season 1 was the book), but 'The Man In The High Castle' pulled it off for the most part so looking forward to seeing what they do.

Also, the weird thing about watching subtitled stuff on Netflix is that I think I stop hearing the foreign language after a while and their speech merges with my reading. English-speaking characters showed up in at one point and it took me a minute to even notice they were speaking English!

Watched an old film on 'Talking Pictures' called 'Murder, Inc.' The reason I watched it is I saw it long ago as a schoolboy at the Sandonia, and I remember being impressed. It has an interesting opening credit: 'Introducing Peter Falk,' made even more interesting by the fact he was Oscar nominated for the role. (One of Lepke's hitmen, it was all based on a true story.)
It looks a bit corny now, but the era it was set in, the 1930/40's was anything but corny. Murder Incorporated killed on an assembly line basis.

Peter Falk was a sadly underrated actor.
