it cant be worse than the dire sugababes cover of 'here come the girls'.

love that track, normally quite like the sugababes but truly cant stand this latest atrocity.

Are we all listening to R1?

And yes, it was awful, but who the hell thought a track like that would work acoustic?

Yup....I'm considering turning it off though, as the constant mention of Metallica et al appearing at Reading 'n' Leeds is making me very jealous indeed!

no, we've got radio 2 on.

just has staying alive on but now its back to bloody jeremy 'i love the sound of my own voice and have idiots phone into my show' vine.

but then its got to be better than real radio which is the only other station we can get decent signal for in our office.

Booyakasha! The Metallica set will be available to view via the red button on BBC from 6.30pm on Friday! Nowhere near the same as being there (:grr: jchiltz), but i'm sure it will be worth a lounge-mosh anyway. Metallica was the first proper gig i went to see at the NEC in 1995...ah, the memories...

I first saw them at this gig, but my first real gig was Maiden the month before For Bruce's leaving tour :slayer:

I've just done a search of the tour dates and must have my dates very wrong...the tour they were on when I went to see them was 'Wherever We May Roam Europe', and was in November 1992 :?:

Radio 1. Counting down the hours til 5pm and wondering at exactly what point did I start wishing someone would cut Katy Perry's voicebox out.

Don't get me wrong; her current wannabeadyke song is hummable, catchy, great and I want to rearrange it for galloping bass, twin guitar harmonies and double bass drum hits. But is it *really* necessary for *every* DJ to play it *every* day? And don't get me started on the rest of the playlist.

They're playing Metallica now, apparently. It strikes me that Hetfield is like Samson; since he's cut his hair off, his voice has lost all its power.

as much as i want to hate this song, i can't help but love it :shame:

the production on it is top notch, and the bass is awesome!

i've had this same conversation before, and i am convinced there is a direct correlation.. happened to jon bon jovi, your man from reef, etc.. if you're a rock star, cutting hair == loss of ability to rock

It's the only song on Radio 1 that doesn't make me want to throw the radio through the wall. (I haven't got a window in my office.)
I could happily go a day or two without hearing it, though.

Every time I hear the first line of Place Your Hands, I'm convinced it's Graham Norton doing a guest vocal.
Mine's stopped falling out now, thankfully.
