What happened to the traffic tonight?

Hi,

I found gridlock on the A449 so diverted to the M6 which was full, so diverted to the A34
which was also full, ended up coming home to Stafford, (from Telford !!!) via Milford and
Cannock Chase.

What happened? Why was no-one let into town at more than 0.5mph?

Just sheer volume of traffic tonight, all the buses were very late. So get out of your cars please folks before you're told to by all town councils!

A few posts under my belt
I heard there was a 12 car pile up on the m6 between j13 and 14. Took me ages to get back from Wolverhampton this evening.

6 people were rushed to hospital with serious injuries. Accident happened between jnc 12 and 13. Took me 1 hr 45 mins to get back from penkridge. Started to clear and was reopened at 5.30pm (M6). Loads of ambulances everywhere and the old traffic fuzz. Every artery into stafford especially those trying to go north was backed up. This happens every bloody summer especially on warm days when you have day trippers and people going on holiday who are not used to driving on the motorway.

P.S. I know it's a massive generalisation but in my experience of doing shit loads of driving it really is a common trend. Guaranteed if I'm stuck in traffic trying to get into Stafford it's nearly always a glorious day and during the hols. I don't really moan about this situation of being stuck in traffic as those being rushed by in white vans with blue lights are a lot worse off than me I'm well aware.

There was a really bad accident on the m6. Also the stafford to penkridge road is having works done and there is only one way traffic!! It took me an hour and 45 mins to get back into Stafford from Penkridge. Had just been to the vets and my cat started to over heat!! - not pretty.. she's ok now tho :)

i turn the gas down when my cat starts to over heat, i like mine served rare

:) I was going to put something about having to wear suspenders but didn't bother as I was in rush. Anyway they don't go with the lycra bib shorts! But I do have a thing about those hold ups... when is the next tie we gat to go to Rocky Horror anyway?
