My favourite part of the Wemouth holiday . Best day weatherwise on Saturday. Failed to convince the owners of these beauties that I really really was under the 7st weight limit for the donkey rides πŸ˜‰ , and just looked like the michelin man with millions of layers on under my coat .

Owner gave us a good talk on their life at the farm and upbringing. Invited me to come and have a cuddle ( With the donkeys, not the owner πŸ˜‚ ) And at the end of the day they get to have a roll in the sand.

One of my top dreams, is to buy the home next to where I grew up in Moddershall, and run a donkey/unloved animals sanctuary. To just let them all live their last few days/months and even years in peace. I'd never get rid of my sister or current ward manager, they'd be there all day everyday.

Drove up to Liverpool with the eldest and his Mrs this morning. We mainly went to see the statues on the beach at Crosby, weren't that impressive, but that is just my opinion. Following that we went to New Brighton, again, weren't overly impressed by the place. We eventually ended up at the Albert Dock, that was nice. All the Liverpudlians we spoke to were lovely and friendly. But the attitude of other visitors was appalling. D-I-L uses an electric wheelchair when out and about. The amount of people who stood in her way just talking, when they could quite clearly see there wasn't enough room for her to pass was awful. She isn't backward at coming forward, so they soon shifted. I have a numb bum, cos I did the driving, I'm stuffed, cos we bobbed into McDonalds on the way home, I really fancied sumat unhealthy.

There was also the Defence of Britain Project about 20 years ago which mapped & recorded many WWII defences structures, but also missed quite a few. I am sure a report was produced but can't find it. Also -
https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/archives/view/dob/ (has a search facility for sites recorded). Or for a little light reading try https://www.amazon.co.uk/Defending-Britain-Twentieth-Century-Structures-Landscape/dp/075243134X
