I love mine too, winter just wouldnt be the same without it. I even cook roast chicken and joints in it :) Im always looking for new recipes...

Steak & kidney puddings steam well in the slow cooker, saves having to keep topping up the water.

I just picked up a nice looking cheese and chilli sauce from asda, gonna use it on some canneloni filled with an odd chilli con carne/reggae reggae pasta sauce concoction I made recently. That certainly needs a crust, was thinking a layer of gouda with a thin layer of cheese sauce on top then cajun breadcrumbs. I am hungry now!

I shall be making this tonight. I have around 4l of chilli, 3 jars of odd sauces (Chilli cheese, cream and chilli, and chicken alfredo) and an assortment of random things from my freezer like sundried tomatoes. Tonight I shall make probably 4 or 5 containers of canelloni, each very different, and freeze most of them for another time (got some great pyrex dishes with sealable plastic lids).

I must be sad, I'm quite looking forward to making this.

Youre not sad at all! Its great knowing you have a freezer full of delicious food just waiting to be popped in the oven, I used to do it all the time when my kids were small. I can see me starting it again soon as eldest has left home and middle son is hardly ever in - I still cook like Im cooking for 5, when in reality its just 2 of us and a 7yr old that eats like a sparrow!

Yesterday I had delicious rump steak from the butchers in the market with baby potatoes, baby sweetcorn, mange touts and baby carrots. Today is pepper steaks with jacket potato. After an almost meat free week last week I'm now on beef withdrawal symptoms. will have fish tomorrow though I think.

I actually enjoy the cooking more than the eating, oddly enough! But yeah, its nice to know you always have a decent meal available. The problem is I'm a hoarder, my freezer is full. I probably have enough meat in the freezer to reconstruct a small cow!

I often buy loads of mince (look out for Lidls half price weekend thingy, sometimes they have steak mince for £1.35/500g) and fry it up with onions and sometimes peppers/chillies. I then bag the stuff up to throw into meals at a later date when I'm feeling lazy.

Wifes day off today so...
Roast chicken and gravy, small whole potatoes in butter, sprouts, bacon that was over the roast chicken, home made stuffing.
For afters, suet pudding with loads of candied peel and fruit in it and cream with vanilla bits in, (it should have been custard but she forgot to buy it)
All washed down a pint of my home brewed beer.
I even ate a half a dozen of the sprouts!

Takeaway curry followed by 8 pineapples! Ready to get things moving now.
8 pineapples? Not heard that one before! Raspberry leaf tea is supposed to work too but Im not sure if you can get hold of it anymore. (Gosh, just thought, hope we're both on about the same thing!)

Yesterday I had a lovely 3 course meal at pastiche - button mushrooms in stilton sauce with rustic dippy bread, lambs liver with chive mash and sticky toffee pudding and custard - very yummy
today will be spag bol - which I always make twice as much of and turn into chilli for the next day.

I think you can get hold of it at health food places - there is something in pinapple that is ment to get things going but you apparently need to eat 20+ for any results - not going there.
Off for a long walk tomorrow and a drive backwards and forwards all day down a bumpy road. Then maybe another curry!

Make a PINEAPPLE curry! I seem to remember reading that pineapple juice gets rid of pineapple pickers finger prints. Good luck with it Bob ;) Tonight Im only catering for an 18yr old and a 7yr old so burgers and chips it is....

Home made chicken, ham, leek & mushroom pie tonight. I have to say Mrs Trumpet does make excellent pies.
