What's for dinner/tea?

Enjoying a drop of red.
Too tired to cook anything meaningful myself and mrs p is working late so steak and chips it is. Followed by raspberry nipple ice cream with a few strawberrys. But first a glass or two of red.

Dinner with an old school friend last night lovely pink beef, light crispy Yorkshire puds, all the trimmings. Had seconds, and thirds of roasties and Yorkshires. Good cheese board. It's a good job I only see her about 6 times a year, I'd be huge.

Van cooking for the last few days!

Highlights include:

- Spicy pasta & sausages: Aribiatta jar sauce and Heck beetroot sausages with extra chilli!
- Lazy Fajitas: M&S three bean Mexican soup with wraps and fresh vege
- Pie & mash

Going shopping this afternoon - trying to use up bits and bobs in the freezer so less to faff with when we move - it could get interesting...

I'm not 'quite' 50 yet (ahem) but still remember every single one of these, although we used to get ski yogurt from the milk man, or have plain yogurt with jam....
Years ago, the only place we ever got yoghurts from was the milkman. Started out with plain ones, then our co-op milkman got flavoured ones.

I remember my grandparents on the Northern side, there was always a frying pan full of thick white lardy fat that was never tipped away or cleaned, just stored in the eye level grill, the chippan was the same! I can't remember the grill pan ever being clean either....

Pinch of Nom savoury rice, with M&S coronation chicken fatties.

We have some Chinese style pork steaks in the freezer, I'm wondering if I can make the savoury rice a chinses style? Five spice instead of curry powder? Any suggestions, were hot on curry flavours, but Chinese never seem to work out as well....
