What's for dinner/tea?

Have just had a tin of Bean on Toast for my breakfast. The great unwashed is being dragged kicking and screaming to this evenings lights switch on - he absolutely hates anything like it, always has since a small child.
So it's just me, again.

Mexican chicken bake thing, piri piri butter spiced corn cobs, & *salt & pepper chips.

*do not buy sainsburys own brand salt and pepper chips, they have no taste whatsoever....

Last nights chicken , jacket spuds , cauli & peas had what worked out a very expensive sauce , but much better than just the original White Wine sauce sachet . (Hubby had insisted on splashing out on an expensive wine sauce gravy sachet thingy in the garden centre on Saturday, infact he bought 2. First one with Sunday dinner wasn't as nice as expected...watery and not the creamy sauce we expected..... )

Bought a tub of cream to mix with last nights remaining sachet , along with mushrooms. So £3.50 :o for the sauce sachet , £1.50 cream and £1.20 mushrooms = one very expensive £6.20 just for the sauce (enjoyed it better with my added touches....). Together with the expensive chicken and expensive fresh cauli from the garden centre as well , we could have dined out for less !

Tonights dinner was some of sons left over 'Caspian' Hawaain Pizza warmed up .....bloody lovely!

Tea is Pork Chops , spuds, sprouts , peas and gravy (No more fancy sauces , just good old Bisto)

Went to the middle sized town for tea (as it is my birthday week)

Vegetarian options are shocking up here so I've no grand expectations...

However I rather enjoyed what I'm calling a 'Pub Tapas' which consisted of a selection of sides:

- Chips
- Onion rings
- Garlic bread
- Macaroni cheese

Followed by hot chocolate fudge cake and a dram of whiskey (well I am in Scotland!)

Yum!!

Enjoying a drop of red.
Out of inspiration tonight so jr and I will take a stroll over to the Chet when he's finished his homework. Would be far quicker to stroll down to the Barley Mow but life's too short for their crap...
