What's for dinner/tea?

proactive

Enjoying a drop of red.
I had this ^^ the scruffy thing went Hungry Horse with his Dad and ate there. I'm not at all put out. I'll do the same as James Mason did with Susan George in Spring and Port Wine, I'll dish it up everyday till he bloomin' eats it!
A truly great film.

Played Russian roulette with the hunters chicken .....it was a premade tray bake thing....all sealed when I put it in the freezer....the carer reconed a side was open when he put it in the oven ....(I had dragged it out of the freezer awkwardly as the freezer is stuffed).. once defrosted it didn't smell, so in the oven it went....so now we wait. .....fingers crossed.... (the carer is more fussy with food than me, so no way would he have cooked it if he thought anything was wrong).....🤞

Made a cheesy fish pie & last of the fresh cauli. Wasn't at all in the mood for cooking ( after a bad day , then a cussing for interrupting an important works call thinking he was talking to me )
Bunged together a mixture of things and turned out one of the tastiest meals I've made!

I always have Hunters Chicken when we go out for meals, my favourite 🙂

I had planned sausage, mash, veg & onion gravy for tea . But hubby has requested.......Garlic Ciabatta , Bacon, sausage, onion rings, fried egg, handful of chips and baked beans.
( When I asked him what he fancied , I had secretly hoped he'd suggest a meal in the pub next door to his barbers after tonights haircut , but hey-ho)

Sausage, bacon, mushrooms, egg .

And more tomatoes than I would have had, probably, if I hadn't forgotten them last time.
Pass on the tomatoes, but our included black pud, which I had bought frozen from farm foods, it was rank, won't be having that again.
I bunged majority in the oven, cos i'm lazy and can't be arsed stand there watching the grill. The great unwashed also passed on the mushrooms, so loads more for me.
I also had 2 slices of bread, thickly buttered, so when i put the sausages on, it all melted and was really nommy. Oh, and a squirt of Daddies brown sauce on the side of the plate.

Last nights tea didn't go quite to plan....burnt offerings after the smoke alarms alerted me. I got carried away tidying the utility room cupboards whilst fetching the beans.

Think I'll give up on this cooking lark and stick to beans on toast for every meal!

Hubbys full english breakfast didn't go to plan this morning , instead of coming down to eat it quickly he was p1ssing about weighing a works catalogue on the kitchen scales for his boss in Germany , to see what postage would be to send out to customers . So his went cold , mine had started to go cold finding the scales for him , the scales ended up broken on the floor after the catalogue toppled off taking the scales crashing to the floor with it .

Tea tonight .....sausage , mash, veg & onion gravy and homemade apple sauce...........

Went the Hungry Horse this afternoon, yet again, I couldn't be arsed to cook, wish I had now. Is the pub under new owners or sumat?
Yes, you get what you pay for, We could have gone spoons for less and it would have been nicer.

He had the mixed grill, I had a carvery. I won't be rushing back for another. The meat was nice, beef a bit gristly, I suppose to be expected, but rest was nice, Turkey and Gammon.
I had carrots and carrot and swede mix, with mashed potato, roast and boiled spuds. 1 yorkie, bit of stuffing and gravy. The carrots and carrots and swede mix was nice! Mashed potatoes were bland, no seasoning, but, I never salt my own when I do them. But the rest were yuk. Roast and boiled spuds were hard in the middle. Great unwashed stuck a knife in the middle of a roastie and was able pick it up, no it should be really soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Gravy wasn't too bad, once I'd sieved out the lumps of onion.
His meal was ok, sausages were well and truly dead, over cooked he reckoned. And he wasn't a fan of the chips either.

I actually feel a bit sick now.
