Probably an Apple store, I don't know much about Apple but I don't think there are any fantastic deals to be had since they tend to control the price quite well.

student prices are usually pretty fair from apple but i am pretty sure there is cheaper options

See if you employer will buy it for you for business use - business rates and no VAT is superb. That's how I got mine, although I do actually use it day in day out for work - whether or not you do is up to you and the people you work for.

if you know anyone who works at the uni, they can get some pretty awesome student discount.. i think i got mine for about £200 off! if you're struggling, drop me a PM and i'll see what i can do..

i know someone who went into an apple store just to play about with them, because he intended to buy through the uni to get his discount.. when the guy in the store started trying to sell him one he said "i'll be honest mate, i'm a student so gonna buy online to get my student discount".. they did him the same price there and then, and didn't ask for any proof he was a student, so it might be worth trying! worst that can happen is you say "oh, i haven't got my student card on me" and they decline you, but on the other hand you might walk away with an almighty discount!

another thing worth bearing in mind is that applecare is about £250 to your average joe.. it's £44 for students! lol..
