To be honest, I don't see how you could say X3's appalling, yet Hellboy's one of your favourites.
this is exactly what i thought, but i figured i had already been too negative in this thread so didn't say anything.. i thought Hellboy was awful, another one i very nearly turned off without finishing :?:

The uncut version of Leon is superb. Millers Crossing is genius and Mash is arguably Altman's finest. One final film, Grosse Point Blank. Ever lovin John Cusack at his best.
Leon's great. The original Taxi's quite good. I can't bring myself to watch the Queen Latifa version.

Liked Grosse Point Blank.

Adaptation's wicked. "Technology versus horse".

Two guilty pleasures (for lack of a better phrase) that I intend to watch again tonight - The Running Man followed by Total Recall.

Really enjoyed Saving Private Ryan, despite the odd premise, .
Agreed, one of my fave films even if it gets abit sentimental at the end. Longest Day as well. anything to do with WW2 ill watch.

The Running Man.
Have you read the book of the Running Man? The film's very different, but kind of in a good way. Instead of going for the usual straight adaptation and cocking it up, they took the theme and put a different spin on it, albeit a cheesy, 80's camp, yet surprisingly effective one.

Speaking of guilty pleasures, I really liked Judgement Night. Think it went straight to video over here. The soundtrack probably did loads better than the film.

Yeah, Cuba Gooding Jr played one of the white fellas. In fact the summat in the ghetto was some white fellas. Dennis Leary was the ringleader and Everlast from House of Pain was one of his goons (pre-heart attack and extra 6 stone in weight).

That's the one.

city of god is quite special.
Oh aye, that'd be one of my favourites.

Haven't seen City of Men yet. Does anyone know if it's any good?

Nightmare Before Christmas is a wicked film. Corpse Bride was a let down, although by no means bad.

Anyone read this month's Empire? There's an interview with Borat. Well funny. Example question & answer:

Empire: Spielberg? Which is your favourite?

Borat: My favourites is the one about the child with nuclear retardation who live in a cupboard.

Borat = genius.

City of Men isn't bad but nowhere near as good as the film. Incidentally the book (City of God) is well worth a read.

The misses likes all things Tim Burton (I really enjoyed Sleepy Hollow, another quality Walken performance - doesn't say a word but looks nails and scary as feck). She has just informed me that everyone should check out the entire Hayao Miyazaki catalogue.
