Who's had a rubbish day?

That's really sad. Are there not other senior managers you can go to? There must be policies around it.

I'm fine babb ta. Hopefully my Ward Manager is n this weekend, if not I shall be speaking to her asap. I'm not putting up with him anymore xx

Well done for facing up to the bully. Hopefully he will realise he's being a dick and leave people alone going forward.

You shouldn't have to put up with this type of crap especially when you're doing such a challenging job.

I've generally been in a good mood of late but after a bit of a mental health dip last night, today has been an absolute stinker. Can't really go into the first part as it's to do with my profession which is linked to my username here but let's just say I was really disappointed in how a project I'm involved with has gone, but the other thing is I realised my pet budgie of 11 years has started having seizures. As brilliant as Park House Vets are (and I would highly recommend them over the others to anyone with an animal smaller than a cat), they don't have the specialist equipment required for issues this delicate and the nearest that do are in Shifnal. I think that journey would be too stressful for him at his age so I'll have to hope his seizures don't worsen. I'm doing what I can.

On the plus side, I did laugh out loud when I got a scam call today that informed me I was a tax fraudster and if I didn't press 1 to speak to an advisor then I'd be arrested IMMEDIATELY.

It's been about 6 hours and no police have smashed through the windows yet but I'll give it another 5.

So far I've been threatened with immediate arrest about my tax, my NI number and most recently for fraudulent activities on my work phone.

The last one threatened to disconnect my phone but then I had a repeat call an hour later. Perhaps they realised if my phone was disconnected they couldn't make any more calls to me :)

Anyway I sit indoors awaiting the SWAT team once again :)

Me, I've had a shite day, work wise, & I can't even tell you about it.... Its getting harder, not easier, at least there used to be some organisation.... I need a room to scream in, and I need the feeling of not being able to help to go away.

What a palaver !!

I was advised by he oncologist a couple of weeks ago that I'll need to take my blood pressure morning and evening every day and keep a record. So Amazon got some business from me for a blood pressure monitor and I started keeping a spreadsheet of the daily readings. This involved figuring out the monitor, and it's blue tooth connection to the phone, then reading up on what all these numbers meant.
I started it a week ago using Alexa to remind me when a reading is due. This morning I am 119 by 76 heart rate 66. The Doc told me if the systolic goes above 145 or the diastolic above 90 I should contact her straight away. This is to do with the hormone treatment side effects but since I haven't received the medication yet I thought I'd get in a bit of practice.

Apparently if the heart rate goes to zero my worries are over ... (arf arf :heyhey:)

I sometimes think I've spent half my life studying, and being retired has not made it go away. :hmm:

Ughhhh you've reminded me, I was supposed to record mine twice a day starting a week ago..... Mine doesn't connect to Bluetooth or my phone though, that seems way easier!

I've missed a couple myself through forgetfulness which is why I use Alexa to remind me. No matter which horizon I look at, I keep seeing Amazon gadgets coming on like a Roman Army !!!

My day was more than rubbish. Had a patient to threaten to punch my lights out this morning, myself and a colleague were attempting to get him washed and dressed. Poor soul has dementia so isn't in the position to understand what is happening. We managed after a fashion get him done and down to the lounge.

Bit later on, there's a few of us in the office, Ward clerk says there's too many people in there, should be a maximum of three at any time. One of the Doctors turnsa to me and says that I'm the biggest and am taking up more room! Realised what he'd said immediately, but the damage was done, I was welling up.

I went into the lounge and repeated what had just been said, and the person i'd got the patient up with earlier said that it was true. That really pissed me off. Then me and same bloke were in the clinical room were putting the blood bottles into individual envelopes ready go up the County, and the converstion got round to people not working, he then goes on to say that he's heard some mention that i'm quite lazy and only do what I have to! Then he says - '' they call me lazy too, but that's just so wrong''! Honestly I could have twatted him so hard, but I'd get the sack.
Eventually corned one of the nurses in the back office and asked him if he thought I was lazy, telling him why. He just laughed, said dunna be so daft and to ignore said twat. I leave that ward most days thinking no-one likes me, I don't need to hear they think i'm lazy too.

I’m shocked anyone can speak to another in such a cruel and derogatory manner. I’m so very sorry.

I'm not a fan of having my blood pressure taken, not that it happens very often.

I got roped into some sort of trial in Oxford years ago and part of that was to record the pressure at the time.

"It's just gone up a notch when you said that" - "Yeah, that happens - well, we'll measure it properly" - the procedure was to do it four times over a quarter of an hour - sit there, don't even speak, just think of something nice.

As we both predicted, it went down over the four readings.

I suppose it's trends that matter most, but establishing the actual situation is a bit 'vague', I think.

Yes all of that is mentioned in the instructions for the Monitor. But those variations are usually within the OK band, it's the trend (hence the recordings) and exceeding the limits (boiler pressure readings :teef:) that hopefully will jump out at you. And I've had some dealings with boilers ....
