Found a police car sat in traffic on a yellow hatched box outside the riverside leisure centre. Didn't appear to be writing himself a ticket either.
Maybe he was just trying fruitlessly to make some forward progress through the endless stop-start that is Staffords traffic light mayhem :D

If anything the painted lines have created more problems. You now have those who don't cross the lines and pull out and those who ignore the lines and pull out as before.

Although overall I'm not in favour of what seems to be a waste of our money, you can't blame the lines for poor driving.

Exiting Wildwood to turn left is now more dangerous. If there is a larger vehicle (4x4, MPV etc.) waiting to turn right onto the Cannock Road - the view of oncoming traffic is severely obscured.

Then wait until it's not obscured!!!

Are you serious. So cars can no longer filter out smoothly and nicely as before. You have to wait until the queue of traffic turning right has gone, before you can see a safe gap which was probably there 2 minutes ago. Great congestion busting!!

I take it you don't live on wildwood and try and get off at peak times of 8-9 or 5-6.

No.

Nope not anti car or anti driving. I just don't subscribe to the notion that cars should have unfettered right to as much road space as they like, nor do I subscribe to the notion that car drivers are hard done by.

Exactly. Stupid decision to alter it to this way.

EDIT: and this is all after last years clever idea, when the lines were changed on the other entrance to Wildwood, so now cars struggle to get past if someone is waiting to turn right, which again at the times mentioned above is causing congestion back to the roundabouts.

I totally agree with what's being said here and anyone denying that these changes are causing problems obviously doesn't travel that way very often.

Also with the traffic tailing back to the roundabouts, when travelling across the roundabout from the town direction towards Cannock, and slowing down in order to stop behind the queue, the cars entering the roundabouts from Baswich Lane/Lichfield just assume that you are going to keep going across at a faster speed and almost come into the side of you as they enter the island .

Can't wait to see what the FOI report says. I would guess not a lot and we will all be proved correct ( except for a certain small furry animal)

Still no-one has managed to answer why they think Wildwood junction is somehow different to any other of a million T-junctions.... How about Parkside estate, bog standard T junctions with a 50mph road (faster than Cannock Road) and "that's worked for years" without any slip road type of arrangement.

I still can't comprehend all the fuss, driving around Stafford is easy. I suspect a lot of the whingers probably haven't spent years driving round somewhere like Birmingham which is hell of a lot busier and more congested.

The issue with the junction compared to parkside is they have the space to build a slip road which they did years ago. What now makes the old design worse than the decision ( half baked ) to change it now. Parkside works because it was designed that way. Wildwood worked because it was designed that way. So why oh why does the council think sticking some paint down in an attempt to change some thing. If it ain't broke don't F**k with it.
