I was lucky enough to get center court tickets for yesterday , saw. Some great play , but was shocked at how many empty seats they were , and people were turned away at the gate , apparently problem is corporate block booking , it needs to be reviewed for real tennis players !!!! I mean fans

Real Tennis players are few and far between i would have thought -

- fans of, even scarcer.

To give Wimbledon their due, in the absence of corporate advertising they have to make money somehow. It is a real shame that the same corporations can't make an effort to release the seats they aren't going to use to the folk at the turnstiles in the same way they were bullied into at the 'Lympics, but when was the last time you saw an unsightly 'Coca-Cola' hoarding at Wimbledon?

That's right, never.

And well done Laura Robson - only saw some of the game but she was on fire when i was watching. :)

Couldn't have put it better. The 'corporate quaffers' who never see any of the tennis keep it going.

Murray wins at Wimbledon.

Lions win in Australia.

Froome dons yellow jersey.

Not a bad weekend for British sport. :)

Murray won the US Open on 9/11 and he won Wimbledon on 7/7, spooky if you are into that sort of thing!

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
77 years since the last British men's champion
77 was the last year a British player won the championship
7 game points in the final game
7 times per game was the number of times the BBC cut to Kim Sears (I'm not complaining about this one!)
7 was the number of times that Gerard Butler and Bradley Cooper looked adoringly into each others eyes
7 was the number of swear words I utter when I saw our 'beloved' Prime Minster on screen.

Some of these may be made up stats

Andy Murray appears to have won! First British guy in 77 years i'm told. Well done him :britain::clap:

Mrs Trumpet mentioned this on Tuesday, have to say I was completely unaware.
Have to ask though. As he's won, he's being universally congratulated as British, had he lost would he have been branded a useless Scottish txsser?
Just asking.

Probably lol I have since been reminded that he is the first British MENs champion in 77 years. All those out there saying first Brit in 77 years have forgotten about Virginia Wade in the 70's!

They've both won during periods of especially warm weather - so, maybe another 30-40 years for the next one..?
