All my parts are OK.
Cat's whisker set?The cat inspected the slightly rearranged premises in the morning and then spent the afternoon in the Shed, by the fire with the radio on.
Electricity still off in rural County Offaly. Now have the camping stove out to boil water. We had a smattering of snow last night. All my parts are OK.
Other people's parts here are not always so sheltered. A country of 5,000,000 people has 740,000 individual premises disconnected by the events.
I had no untoward effects of any consequence. My precautions are practiced and seemed to be adequate. And my location is not greatly exposed for violent wind events.
It was bloody rough, though.
We have many minor roads blocked by fallen trees, but these were mostly resolved today, and the rest won't take long. Some of the repairs to the electrical distribution system may take over a week to sort out - but, I didn't even have a single flicker of the lights.
I ventured down to the pub in the town tonight - and came home from there in a real blizzard - of such intensity that I am featured in several videos being made by members of the Brazilian community who had never seen snow on such a scale. My jacket was caked in snow when I arrived at the front door.
