Tomorrow will be the worst, if you're actually local at least compared to last few days, from what i've seen on the weather forecasts

Seems most people on here aren't even from/living in stafford

God must miss it so much, it is so good here to be fair

My broken sold sign has just been screwed back onto the post , after it's airborne antics during Dudleys attack . Might be giving them a ring again tomorrow if Eunice is even fiercer....

Wind is picking up rather a lot here (and with it lashings of rain) at the moment. :hmm:

Been checking and strengthening my aerials where I can. Having worked for the Met Office (long ago, straight from school) and been involved with weather obs for many years, I can give a highly technical weather forecast for all to benefit from:

Something wicked this way comes.

Poor old Michael Fish .... even if he got every other weather forecast he made in his life right .... he would still only be remembered for that one.

I'm visiting the tech park and the old Uni on Friday so I guess I'll get to feel the force!
Get ready for lots of "things that go bump!" I guess!
Just wonder if 4 days worth of warning will get people to bring bins in?

It never happened 😭😭
I seen an interview the other day saying the whole thing was taken out of context, and that snippet that a hurricane isn't coming was actually from earlier referring to a comment about the weather in Florida 🕵️, get the feeling from the interview he was made to be the fall guy for the failings of the actual body who were meant to be predicting the weather.

I read last night that even if it's bin day , if your bin tips over and litters the street you can be fined £80 by the council. And if it does damage to anything else it isn't covered on insurance...

Sons wondering if he'll get home to Worcester from Nottingham today after last nights comedy show . Nothing on all the train stations enroute , until they got there and saw a sign in Nottingham station saying not to travel on friday 18th as doubtful trains would be running, and tickets would be valid 17th or 19th instead. At least he's with the right person , his top boss, if they don't make it back for work tomorrow

Latest Met Office forecast wind speeds slightly have been reduced for Stafford.

Things are still looking very bad down south though, Perranporth has already recorded a gust of 105mph.

Power is off. Aerials and fences down. Went out to check and got blown over so retreated inside. Using phone for this. Bloody evil outside.
Stay safe!

Rough and wet here in this part of Stafford , but so far (fingers crossed) fences still standing and the repaired sold sign still intact.

Getting rougher here now. Fences started taking more of a battering than earlier... :hmm: (Don't really want to fork out on new fencing before we move !)

Sons having to try to work his way across the country on whatever trains are leaving any stations as loads are cancelled completely or delayed due to the storms .
