Blimey, a really vicious squall where I am just now, lots of stuff to put back after it calmed down.

I've just popped up for a look at the Shed roof, something big-sounding came down on there in the middle of the excitement, but there is nothing to be seen now - possibly an emergency landing by a crow..?

Don't you get flying trampolines there then?

Cannock Chase Forest says -

"The effects of Storm Arwen has been quite extensive at Cannock Chase Forest. There is widespread damage across all trails. So unfortunately we have extensive closures at the moment.

We have a team out working to clear the damage but anticipate that this will be several days work. They're working hard to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.

Listening to some rather scary winds ( and rain lashing down) out there at the moment.
Woke me at 1.30am and still as rough a couple of hours later .

Hoping it's not causing too much damage anywhere .

Bought some screws to repair the fence in the morning, so long as it doesn't fly over the boundary line and into the neighbours garden , which is approximately a 6-10 foot drop from my own :shifty::shifty:

Yes.

Today's windiness is well under way out west.

Must have blown out of Julian Cope's back garden.
It could have come from anywhere, from the heavens to the bottom of the sea...

We are down to a chilly breeze here now, after a second round of very stormy winds last night - and, with a chilly breeze, clear skies and bright sunshine, it's made the task of finding the dispersed pile of flower pots, that weren't (apparently) sufficiently restrained, a bit easier to retrieve. That, plus a slightly accelerated demise of the 'bus stop'*, is the only real 'damage' that could be reported.

The car is normally parked there, but I had taken the precaution of moving it to a more open location.

Out west, things are calming down now.

We had a third round of Arctic blasts for a couple of hours this afternoon, but it's really quietened down now.

I may venture out of the gate for the first time since Monday afternoon.

Was stormy down this way too, but, I'm happy to say my aerials have rode it out. There's still the remains of a whip tied up there from storm Arwen, but I sure as hell am not venturing on the roof in this wind. Things are getting calmer and the barometer is climbing out of the pit. I console myself with the fact that in less than two weeks ... the nights will be drawing out. :crossarms:

Just noticed I've lost the top of my fence. Didn't notice it on the lawn yesterday , so must have been damaged and finally fell off overnight.
