The cops say -
We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Stafford last night (7 January). Emergency services were called to a report of a collision between a car and two pedestrians, a woman and child, near to the junction of the A449 Mosspit and Chain Lane, Stafford, at around 5.45pm. Colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service and Midlands Air Ambulance were also in attendance and the road remained closed during the incident.
The pedestrian, a 48-year-old woman, sustained serious leg injuries and was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital by ambulance. The other pedestrian, a 5-year-old girl, sustained minor injuries and was taken to the same hospital. The driver of the VW Touran, a 42-year-old woman, was also assessed at Royal Stoke.
