I worked in Derby for years and often find myself at the end of a "if I wasn't at work, I'd punch your teef in look" from teenager lads working supermarkets when I say "cheers duck" or "cheers flower" when they hand me change/ receipt.

Mrs. Dogg says I have a deathwish with regard to Stafford Rude Boys and Gals- I can't help it I just love the friendly way it sounds

"Duck" took some getting used to when I moved up here, oop norf it's more "chuck", it was a bit WTF at first. Now I don't even notice it. I do have a soft spot for "flower" :)

Guess some must see a lass calling you Chick as less offensive than some bloke doing it, cause I've only ever had a couple of funny looks for doing it!
