Worst Pot Holes in Stafford.

I drive down Corporation street almost every night, play hopscotch with the potholes all the time, and have the speed bumps and chicanes to contend with too. I don't go fast down there, you can't. Some do, and i've seen many a near miss over the years.
One of my great regrets is not having a camera on me when I saw two blokes 'repairing' a pothole in a hump.

I assumed the potholes were merely reverse humps!

The big roundabout as you go through Stone is pretty bad, hadn't been that way in a while, but Stoke seems better by far than Stafford.

Crooked Bridge Road isn't much better, as I recall and just like Corporation Street has been in a right state for decades.

Where Corporation st meets Crooked Bridge rd there is a lot of mini pot holes/ fissures opening up. I'm really surprised I've not had an accident whilst driving to avoid them.

Apparently the cost of repairing a pothole is pretty minuscule… around £70 for a reactive repair

Which begs the question, why aren’t they being repaired? It’s clearly not a funding thing if it’s that cheap.

Is that what it costs, or what we pay?

Crooked Bridge Road was 'repaired/fixed/something done to it' last year so isn't quite the state it was. No holes as such but plenty of bumps instead of a flat surface.

Get to the top of the bank, just as you cross Read Avenue it's like the surface of the moon!

Conversely, how is Mt Sainsbury these days on the bridge. I would be intrigued to know how long before it makes Sainsburys off limits in a car.

Well that's as maybe but as of 3 weeks ago it didn't bloody feel like anything had been done when I went down it on a motorbike. The temporary repairs our ludicrous county council carry out last next to no time and are a total waste of our money.

That's what I meant about all the bumps. Holes filled in which created a bumpy surface.

Still the same, I wouldn't hold out hope for repairs anytime soon, the council won't even repair the footpath over the bridge, that they own!

The council own nothing. We, as tax payers own it. We employ the council to manage what we own on our behalf.

In this case, badly.

Apparently they own the footpath on the bridge at Sainsbury's. I believe sainsburys rent certain parts/own other parts. The carpark and bridge and footpath are owned by the council, which is why sainsburys aren't allowed to repair it, where as Sainsbury's own the rear private carpark.
