I don't know about stoke but you can't drink in most pubs in Wolverhampton on match day without a home ticket, so away fans travelling by train tend to stop at Stafford for a skin full - I imagine away fans going to stoke do the much same.It's where I direct football fans to when they alight a stop too early en masse at Stafford station

It's such a shame it still isn't like that, but unfortunately there are brainless idiots about that spoil it for everyone!I remember going into The Great Western some years ago on a match day and it was full of Portsmouth fans having the crack with local fans, a regular thing back then apparently.
Yes, I think it's the lack of police presence that makes it appealing.
