Sorry if this has been posted before, I am not as regular a browser as I have been before, mainly due to only just buying new pc. I was in Stafford on Saturday and it looks like the Rose and Crown has been set a light? Or is it just being renovated? Whatever it looks a right mess and wondered/hoped someone could shed some light on things please? Plus on another note, when do you think someone will move into the connextions building by Sports Direct back entrance as thats been empty ages and now Walmsleys opposite have gone it's not that inviting down there!

Slightly off thread, there's a trip to Joules planned for 10th October from The Royal Oak in Eccleshall, cost TBA but enough to cover the coach I believe. Will update when finalised.
Carry on chaps.

I never visited the Rose and Crown when it was open.. my tender 18 year old self felt from the outside looking in it seemed like one of those pubs where drinks would be dropped if a "non-regular" dropped by.. I hope to drop by when it re-opens, especially as there may be decent ale on

R & C karaoke nights about 6 - 7 years ago when Bev had it were something else. Surreal on occasion.
Still the only karaoke night I've ever been to that ran on a chipped Commodore Amiga. MIDI files ahoy!

Looked at the notice in the window, if you've got £10k kicking around, you could possibly become the new tenant.

Thought that myself, I wonder whether a lack of a tenant has slowed things down.
It would have been nice for the r & c to open pre christmas as it would make a great addition to the quality pubs that have sprung up in the last few years.
I might be wrong but I get the feeling there is more drinkers coming into town albiet a more older crowd and a Joules pub would be an assest to encourage people from further afield to visit the town

Should make for a nicely spaced Ale Walk

Chambers - Ale House - Rose n Crown - Sun Inn - Prince William - White Lion

Yes I did the same on Friday. Still a lot to do by the looks of it.
