Well, you've probably all noticed that your lovely YouTube links have turned into a pile of geeky looking code. That's not a bug, it's as a result of a deliberate modification I have had to make.

The gobbledegook you have posted is called HTML, and if I were to allow it on The Forum it would present a very serious security risk. It never should have been allowed in the first place, but it seems I was a bit sloppy with my PHP and the function designed to strip it out wasn't actually working. Suffice to say, it works now. :eng101:

Apologies for any disappointment caused, but believe me when I say I wouldn't have done it if it wasn't absolutely necessary. Feel free to edit your posts so that they show a link to the video you want to share, rather than trying to present it inline. :)

i was gonna say....theyre not all violent.

apparently people are getting sniffy about that...well, thats what the front page of the metro said today.

what aren't all violent? what's on the front page of the (sheffield) metro? The Governator's post was about disallowing HTML code because it is a security risk :?:

sorry, it was early and i hadnt got my full fish n chip fix when i posted that.

my intitial thought was that the governator was pandering to the hot story of the moment and removing all the videos, violent or not....turned out he wasnt and was just sorting out the technical glitchs for the forum.

i dont know if that makes any more sense...sorry, this is a post choc chip sponge with chocolate sauce post so my brain isnt working as well as it should do- its concentrating on my belly.
