YouTube via the TV...

I currently watch music videos through my blu-ray player/tv using the installed YouTube app'.
My problem is that it is inconsistent. It often 'crashes' with a messge saying 'Cannot play, file too large, closing application' or similar.
I have BT Infinity 2 fibre broadband so I don't think this should be giving me any issues as I have no problems watching stuff on Netflix etc.
Is there another way I can access YouTube and play it on my tv, that is not expensive or means having wires all over the place?

There is a youtube app on the nowTV box, bit clunky but you can send videos from your phone to it by using the website/app on that instead. They cost about a tenner.

Chromecast, Android TV box, Roku, all of these will work for you. Chromecast you can cast from your smartphone/tablet/pc/laptop to it and it will play them, similarly you can cast to an android tv box and a roku with this method as well.

Have you tried checking for a firmware update for your blu ray player ?If it's a known issue the manufacturers might have provided a fix.

Could it be the BT infinity? My son has endless problems trying to play on his xbox one, we've had BT out loads of times, they've replaced lines to the house & moved all the boxs etc but it still won't work properly with the Xbox.

He's recently spent about £200 on a router & modem (Currys said he needed ) but it hasn't changed anything....

I have to say though, we watch YouTube via the NowTv box (via infinity) & don't have any issues.

Ask him to place his Xbox ip/Mac into the DMZ of the router , this would give it direct access to the internet but it would be vulnerable to attack.
That would rule out any firewall issues and if its running OK that way its a router setting not configured correctly.

Well I've sent him a msg, although he still seems to be being held hostage by this girlfriend that we don't know about, so I dont know when he will try it, but thanks :)

Thanks to the kind folks who replied.
I bought a Chromecast in the end. It works a treat so far. I think I must have had an issue with my original set-up somewhere because Chromecast works very well with YouTube - fast and no crashes so far.
Just need some decent speakers I can use with my LG TV as I previously used the ones' with my Sony Blu Ray player....?

I'd advise a sound bar, no less than 50w. May be worth one with a separate sub if that suits your setup.
