sometimes ppl dont want to pay me a deposit just in case i shut overnight. i can understand tho, but all i can say is i have a 3 year lease and im really busy so im not going to shut. and if i did i wouldnt rest until i gave everyone their deposit back, its really bad to do business like that if you have a choice not to

It's been 'closed for refurbishment' for weeks now - no sign of any refurb going on!

I see there are 'To Let' signs on the Panasonic shop now. Didn't think they would re-open ....That's another sale panasonic have lost as I've bought my new Hotpoint washine machine online from the Co-op Electrical rather than Panasonic- was going to purchase from the Panasonic Stafford shop the week they closed up . I was only joking with the manager on the friday that I hoped they wouldn't have gone by the time I came back in on the monday!

There were men doing whatever men do in empty shop units in the old card shop and the old farmfoods shops this morning.

The place in Marston Road is going to be a new Chinese/Indian takeaway, called, Chindia. I shit you not.

Sadly the Watermill has served its last pint :(
Sorry if this offends anybody who went there/worked there, but I don't think this place ever properly opened. I've been there a few times and it's always seemed like somewhere for the owners' mates to drink, as opposed to a pub. I'm 100% against pub closures (obviously I appreciate that pubs close for different reasons)...in fact I've taken it upon myself to ensure that as many pubs stay open as possible (:pint:). The Watermill though, with a dreadful selection of drinks* and the cold, white decor, really didn't appeal**.

Walked past Atlas Kebab House on Marston Road this morning, news papers covering the windows and signs saying under new management opening soon.
