Come in, have fun, and join the Revolution! :D Make yourself comfortable, have a look round. Although, obviously there is not a lot to look at at the moment, but that's where you come in! This place is brand new, and needs your contributions.

Feel free to chat about what ever you like; there are sub-forums for Stafford, General Chat, Music, etc. If you want a new sub-forum opening, let me know. :) I'm going to let you guys/gals shape this place - if you want something doing, just ask!

So, if anything's happening in Stafford you want to discuss, if you used to live in Stafford and want to catch up, if there's an event round here you need to know about, or even if you just want to chat about something on TV: get involved! Start posting. :D

If you're new to Stafford Forum, why not introduce yourself by posting "Hello!" in The Introductions Thread?

:)

Admin Edit: To avoid confusion, just to clarify - the above was the first post ever made on Stafford Forum; check the post date below! ;)

Welcome to The Forum, m4ytt. :)

I doubt I know you personally, but by all means PM me your name if you want to double-check! This place was set up so that anyone who has an interest in Stafford and its surrounding areas can keep in touch, and let everyone else know about it in the process. :)

If you have any ideas you would like to see implemented, by all means let me know. I'd be interested to know how you discovered this place as well!

Thanks. :D

Whilst I really appreciate the intention, please do not edit the Wikipedia entry for Stafford! I placed a link there a few days after this site went live, explaining briefly what this site was for. A couple of people followed suit, and sure enough all entries for The Forum were removed shortly after by Wikipedia administrators!

Wikipedia have very strict rules about what can be posted in an article, and you can see why they wouldn't want their service to be abused by turning into a links directory free-for-all. For this reason, things are monitored very closely, and if they think someone is posting unecessary links for the sole purpose of promoting their site they will remove the links and ban that user from future edits.

A few days after the links were removed, I went back and put a single, small, unobtrusive link at the very bottom ("External Links" section). Nothing verbose, just a link, so if anyone was looking for it they would find it. It has remained there ever since.

I have noticed that around a dozen edits have taken place in the last few days, and I'm worried that this will attract the attention of the moderators and the links will once again be removed. Obviously, Wikipedia and The Internet in general is about the freedom of information, so I can't and won't tell you what to do. However, if anyone is genuinely interested in the continued promotion of this site, I would ask that you do not edit the Stafford Wikipedia entry!

Thanks. :)

EDIT: In fact, just as I have typed this reply out, I've noticed that Wikipedia user "Quarma" has deleted the entry and marked it as Spam. :( Thankfully, the main link at the bottom is still there.
