Car boot sales in Stafford.

I came away with 2 blue plastic tarpaulins and a book on HMS Warspite. Time was it seemed every hardware stall had these tarpaulins but today I saw just the one.

Anyway, years ago it seemed like half the stalls were selling a video of The Full Monty; its modern equivalent seems to be Fifty Shades Of ..... Are there any other items that in the past every other stall seemed to be selling?

Great day for me, 6 of my favourite £2 bars of chocolate for 50p each, a leisure battery for the camper van for £30, a beach tent for £1, And 6 catering tins of plums at 50p a tin, and a spare blow up mattress for £2.
But it was a big one, my legs ache from the walk round.

In the last century, it seemed that it was illegal to have a boot sale without there being a Polaroid camera on offer.

Foot spas were also rather common, making me think they are quite useless. Also I'd hate anyone to use one after me, so you'd have to scrutinise the sellers hygiene closely.

What's all this £2 per person entry for the sale at Eccleshall 'market'? Outrageous. Are they allowed to charge, unless it's for car parking?

Biggish today, after last week's washout - all I got, though, was a 'Grenade'...

Quite big today and rather more interesting stuff, but nothing for me.

I was amused by the loud-mouthed fruit seller continually shouting "Come on, girls, have a go with my seedless grapes!", which I took to be a coded chat-up line referring to his vasectomy and the likelihood of disappointment.

There was a..

..which reminded me of the time we produced a Stychfields Recipe leaflet, which involved such things as holding your Christmas turkey under the hot tap until it just got too painful...

I finally found something interesting for me - a sort of Edwardian multi-tool, very like this...

..the end of the handle screws off to reveal the tool storage space..

..well worth £1:50..
