Hi

Maybe, but often get waves from MX5s.

Used to get waves from Alfa when I had them (although that pretty much disappeared when they became more popular).

Get waves on the bikes pretty much all the time.

All the best

Was today's traffic any worse than 'normal'?

I rarely get involved in the morning lemming run, although I do suffer it in the evening now and then. It's just taken me 55 minutes to get to this end of Stone and back - and that's from just off Beaconside, so I've not even been through Stafford itself at all, really.

Utter madness.

I've seen some really obnoxious and ridiculous driving - I won't be doing this again for as long as I can manage.....

It was okay for me Baswich to Beaconside. Although the part-time traffic lights (for 4 weeks!) at the crematorium cross roads go live today?

Wouldn't be so bad if they didn't have that stupid one-way system on St Thomas Lane.

Wolverhampton Road into Stafford was at a standstill about 8:30. I managed to walk into town from the West Way junction quicker than a coach that was stuck in traffic.

The Lotus lights are currently stuck on a permanent pedestrian request cycle, which just adds to the general sense of futility..

One of my colleagues gave up with the bus, got out and walked the rest of the way from West Way into town - he beat the bus by a mile...

Did seem really bad coming from Acton Gate all the way off down the Weston Road this morning, not normally that bad - all coming off the M6 possibly?

The lights outside Halfords are still out of faze with browning st, sat there tonight at 6:45 with no traffic coming from the estate looking at the lights on green further up. As soon as Halfords lights changed they went red up the road. :?: These lights could be flashing amber/ off at this time of night. :better:

Just in from walking the dog and saw 5 Eastern European lads (judging by the sound of their language) cycling home from work along the Stone Road in flourescent waistcoats and with nice bright lights on - was impressed. They were having a lovely chat whilst cycling, something they wouldn't have done had they all gotten in their own cars and driven home alone like most residents of Stafford are intent on doing!

They should start giving peoplee on the spot fines they are in the yellow box juntion for longer than 5 seconds like London
if they can do that, I hope they can include the Stafford Buses also, especially where bully their way across the Yellow box by the Grapes Bar.

Walking the Dog is a dangerous activity now that Stafford Council want us to share the footpaths with cyclists. but I have to agree with kyoto49, it takes no time to walk or cycle around Stafford these Eastern Europeans seem to have a good attitude to life, but then is it part of their objective? They are here to make money and save it.

So, this group of riders talking in an unusual tongue, might there have been four and not five....

Things are worse than I thought for Stafford and it's traffic woes :help:

Never understood why they do the roadworks in the wet cold months of the year?

I'm sure it's probably related to the tax year, where they spend their budget before April. But they'd get a lot more work when the light is better and days are longer.

We noticed the traffic was heavier down the Weston Road yesterday morning as well. It wasn't all coming off the M6 around 7.30-8am though, both ways were moving ok then at J14 (Queues then started southbound at J13 all the way down to nearly the M5 )

Saw some fun and games this morning as I walked down the Cannock Road towards Weeping Cross. There is usually a line of traffic going straight down the bank, and a second queue forms right the way back up the road to turn right at the island. BUT.....new roadworks have closed the straight on lane this week, so traffic was forming one queue in the centre of the road. Several cars were overtaking the whole lot on the wrong side of the road, only to get stuck facing on-coming traffic .
