There is a trailer thingy that parks up by the tory club, massive photo of Jeremy LeFroy on either side. The temptation I have to draw glasses and a tache on it, but can't. I'm such a short arse, I need step ladders to do so.

THIS is why we will not win the next War

Take courage find a permanent marker and maybe practice on the LadyBoy himself first

Hersute candidates could possibly adopt whatever grafiti had been applied to posters, in real life

I will never vote Labour again until they are Labour again and not a bunch of left-wing toffee nosed Tories!

I'm a bit pissed off that the smaller parties haven't made more of an effort to canvas my vote. Considering that all I keep hearing about is how this could be the election that ends the two party system, I wouldn't recognise three of those candidates in the street- and I actually bother to take an interest in local politics.

I've heard loads from Labour and NHA, very little from the incumbent (who seems a bit complacent about it all) and absolutely naff all from the other three. They don't seem to have made an effort to stand on local issues at all.

ATJ - it's possibly a bit late in the day but apologies if you've not heard from us (Green Party). Withnail is right that we don't have the dosh or human resources to canvass everywhere in the borough, so we target them in the places we think we have the best chance of winning. I agree that we should've made more effort to communicate our message through the newspapers. We do use social media - we tweet a bit and our Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/StaffordandStoneGreenParty. We also have a website where you can find our local manifesto and stuff: http://staffordstonegreens.org/

We're a rapidly growing party so I'm confident we'll be able to have more of an impact in future.

voted labour this morning

... choice was simple as i see it, labour will at least cull the disabled humanely , whereas the conservatives would watch you suffer in pain denying any help or support before they wield the knife.

there are other options , but sadly that would still lead to the tory toffs getting back in.

my prediction..

conservative win but hopefully not with any power to push any more draconian measures through parliament.

I really want to vote Green, I have visions of protection of green spaces, and egalitarian policies, protection of the NHS, good fair education for all and lots of proper cycle paths :) I wont for 2 reasons: I don't think enough people will vote for them so I'll feel it's a wasted vote against these tossers currently in government, and I'm not sure how realistic green policies are when they come up against the power of big business and the landed elite. I feel quite sad about it all really.

You'd have more of an impact if your Green councillor had done anything in the last year after he eloped with the Freemasons.

The loon Marwood spends most of the year spouting complete b******s and then wants us to support the Reds as, apparently, they will save (ie. waste more) on theNHS.
Go Kate !!!!!!!!!

Can people stop saying wasted vote, you feel strongly enough about something, then it's not wasted, if everyone thought like that there wouldn't be any other parties apart from the top 3, c'mon!

It can only make them (whatever party it is) get closer to the end game and you know you've played your part, when they do.

And the two thirds* of the population that keep voting for the same two parties, because "they're the only ones who can win", are the people who are perpetuating a system that has let us down badly.

* With apologies to those who vote for those two parties because they actually believe in their policies.

Polling Station was much busier this time. Tory candidate parked on seat outside asking to see people's ballot papers. Anyone know why? Most seemed happy to show. I did not.

OMG! Surely that can't be legal!
I would imagine the reason they want to check the votes is to see how they are doing and if they need to go and find/rally supporters that haven't voted to go vote before the polling station shuts if it looks like a neck & neck race or they are marginally losing.

Sorry - electoral card not ballot paper.
Think they are trying to find no show constituents.
Then they can rush round to their house and offer lifts/encourage them to vote in the last hours.
Seems to happen when it's tight.
