Kate Godfrey: Great candidate. Lets vote for her.

Sorry - electoral card not ballot paper.
Think they are trying to find no show constituents.
Then they can rush round to their house and offer lifts/encourage them to vote in the last hours.
Seems to happen when it's tight.
They could've come and offered me a lift, then I would've voted for the opposition!

That's weird. A lot of people don't seem to realise that you don't need an electoral card to vote. You don't need ID to vote. It's amazing how many people will willingly give a complete stranger their name and address just because they're in a suit.

An exclusion zone of 50m should be set up to keep candidates and activists away from voters.

Phew! I was just reading up on the legalities and going to suggest you report it to the police.
Still don't agree with them being allowed to do this either, as it can be extremely intimidating. I've had it happen to me in the past and the man got really aggressive with me. Every one has the right to secrecy in an electoral ballot, and should not feel intimidated. You were quite right not telling them.

Now this morning we were going to take the electrol cards but husband noticed that on the card it says 'You do not need to take this card with you in order to vote', so we didn't take them as we had other stuff to do first......when we got there the bloke asked our names then asked for the electrol card, we said we hadn't - to which he tutted & huffed - I then told him what it said on the card - & he huffed & tutted again & stroppily said 'it makes it so much easier if you actually bring it with you'!!

What a very rude man! Don't use him next time Holmcroft Youth & Community Centre.

The loon Marwood spends most of the year spouting complete b******s and then wants us to support the Reds as, apparently, they will save (ie. waste more) on theNHS.
Go Kate !!!!!!!!!

they want the address so they can go bully people that haven't voted to the polling station.

I think you should need some ID to vote to prevent people taking your vote illegally.

Polling Station was much busier this time. Tory candidate parked on seat outside asking to see people's ballot papers. Anyone know why? Most seemed happy to show. I did not.

There was a blue rosette at the village hall in Haughton when I went up at three ish. Steady trickle of voters coming in when I was there but no queue. I took no ID with me and was asked for none.

I'm sure that I can remember party agents not being allowed on the polling station premises and having to hover around the site entrance where they were on the highway...?

I am not sure what the voting etiquette is ? he was inside when I arrived and had moved outside and on phone when I left.

I thought she came across quite well in that stafford fm video that was posted some moments ago - enthusiastic. Not had a lot of time to get properly jaded yet, though, has she?

I'm going to vote for her in a, no doubt vain, attempt to thwart another five years of Cameron et al.

Labour in vain? Well it's worth a shot, but i'm pessimistic.

My other half met her today and she was very impressed with her.

UK election exit poll predicts Conservatives will be largest party in a hung parliament, with 316 seats to Labour's 239. Survey by NOP/Mori for BBC, ITV and Sky.

Sat inside the polling station - this was a candidate, not a agent.
I have never seen anybody inside the building, I suspect that is not allowed - but, having tried to check UK voting laws over expenses yesterday and found the sheer scale of the wordiness, I am loathe to try to find the truth of the current rules.
