Mango Bean - new coffee shop in Stafford

Decided to try their coffee out this morning, I don't think I'll be visiting again.

It looks rather pretty on the inside, but my first stumbling block was that I couldn't see a pricelist/menu anywhere, even a blackboard with chalk writing would have helped give me a better idea of what was available.

Hedging my bets, I decided to ask for a black coffee/americano to go. No card machine installed yet (but they can't be faulted for that, they are waiting on installation). Cost me £1.90. Get outside and it felt a bit light. Opened the top and I only had 3/4s of a cup. Add to that the taste wasn't really up to scratch for a coffee shop, I ended up throwing half of it away.

Honestly, my money is still on the Bean Encounter every time for reasonably priced exceptional coffee in stafford.

There's a fish stall on Birmingham market that doesn't display prices, got caught out there once. Just the once.

Was hoping it was a juice bar, hard to tell from outside! Not likely to use sadly, I like a good sit down somewhere comfy for a hot drink.

I've been in a few times now, prefer a little coffee shop to the well known ones. I'm fussy with my coffee and my flat white this morning was perfect. The smoothies are strange but refreshing. They do now have a white board menu, can't really fault them for that, could be the franchises problem? The people who work in their are welcoming. Defiantly going again!

I walked past on Saturday and it as closed, which was a shame as it looked lovely. Is it only open in the week?

Do we have hipsters in Stafford? I have stubble at least once a week, could be mistaken for a beard. That's as hip as I get.

we definitely have hipsters in stafford.. a day doesn't go by where i don't see a neck tattoo, or someone with a perfectly tended beard, etc.. perhaps it's because i drive past the college every day..

I saw a topknot yesterday :emo:
A friend of mine has a top knot, a beard and fashion tattoos (as i like to call them) Its about as sad as it gets. I can never understand people who have fashion tattoos. I mean how ridiculous do blokes with tribal tattoos looks nowadays or girls with barbed wire or tramp stamps. Looks tacky and cheap. Same blokes who have sleeves with koi and clouds and all that fashoin bollocks will look ridiculous in 10 years time. I often think about how theyre gonna look as pensioners! A lad i used to work with was obsessed with a shitty film called xxx and the vin diesel character and tattoos. He went and had the exact same tattoos up his arm and neck and the tit wore a vest all winter to "show it off". He looks a proper bell now ha ha. Its akin to melding a pair of flairs to you legs and never able to take them off again cus they were cool as fook for a period of time.
