Enjoying a drop of red.
If you are using the A34 for the run, remember there is likely to be significant disruption from Monday as a result of new Severn Trent work between the Riverway lights junction and the Hough junction.

I AM GROOT!

Well that's what a daft fb quiz tells me. I can live with that result lol.

I've also just spent a bemused 10 mins listening to the younger Spawn tell me all about Elsa's curry nation dress.....:lol::lol:

I believe they meant coronation

Sat in the car listening to eldest and youngest falling out over the window, the length of time it takes to eat pasta, who looked at whom first and so it goes on. Ah happy families!

Trying to find out if M6 southbound from J13 is open overnight tonight, and can't see any closures mentioned. Anyone know if it is actually open in the early hours of tomorrow morning? ( Got to get to the airport and last time we went down it was a bloody nightmare with M6 closed, most of the roads in Cannock to get to the Toll closed, M42 slip roads closed by the airport ...want to get there without any blazing rows this time  )

Thanks. I found this page ://www.gov.uk/government/news/planned-roadworks-in-west-midlands-weekly-summary-for-monday-3-august-sunday-9-august-2015 which shows quite a few closures from 3rd August evening onwards, the week before showed closures until 1st August . But no mention of 2nd to morning of the 3rd.

Part of M42 on way back is closed just northbound (hopefully) and says it re-opens 5 or 6am (ish) so hopefully be able to get back in time for hubby to get to work .

Anyone got a helicopter I can lend please ? :D

My hand held luggage scales have just disintegrated as I tried to weigh sons case. Wii fit board to the rescue....... I now weigh 3 stone on it.

Had to spend ages weighing the hand luggage bit by bit on my tiny kitchen scales and totting it all up to make sure that's in the 8kg limit

Just finished helping son pack his case for a month at Edinburgh.

It was looking good until we tried to fit all the thousands of promotional fliers for his show in the suitcase. They have gone in but the case is really heavy and he has to change trains at Crewe.

Looks like I will now be taking some when we go up next weekend.

He's flying Lufthansa and allowed a small handbag type of thing as well as the 8kg hand luggage..hence the bum bag, so if it's over he'll have to bang some heavy stuff in there.

Luckily it's a 23kg hold luggage allowance, with a months worth of clothes and loads of presents for the people he's meeting in Japan it's come very close to the limit (if their scales weight more he'll have to wear some of it!)

Lesson learnt...don't buy luggage scales or luggage straps from poundland. The combination lock on their strap disintegrated first time I used it getting ready for our last holiday.
