Just mentioned this to Mrs WMR - we shall give it a go too once it's opened. Anyone know a date yet?

Popped in with the parental unit for a swift pint to see what it was like yesterday.

Unfortunately it was a final training day and they were serving food only.....Swift exit and back to the local.

First impressions, very clean (obviously) seems almost like a carbon copy of every other Marstons pub/foody establishment.

Would go back to check out the food and of course the beer.

Popped in for tea Tuesday night as it was hubby's turn to cook ! It's not normally somewhere I would go, because of the noise levels, opened plan lots of people waiting for food, clatter of knives and forks that sort of thing. However the food was freshly cooked and was served hot, I had ham egg and chips, lovely carved ham, chips were quite nice but unfortunately egg was raw, they did offer to exchange it but as I'd already eaten most of the chips and ham, I didn't see the point. OH had a burger with chilli and pulled pork, he thought it was good, looked too messy to me as the roll didn't seem firm enough to hold it together. Now I've experienced it, it isn't somewhere I would rush back to, but that's not to say there's anything wrong with the place in general it's just personal preference.

Sounds like they use Brioche buns, seems to be the trend now and they ALWAYS fall apart.

Cant bear briche buns, they are too sweet but as you say it seems to be the trend.

The next time I go out for a burger I shall take my own roll just to be on the safe side.

Unfortunately, with regards to your dissapointing egg @Floss67 this is a constant problem almost everywhere we eat. Yet it's so bloody simple to get right!!

My wife always says she would happily spend a week visiting these "chefs" and showing them how to cook the perfect egg.

No! A small amount of runny egg white is NOT acceptable. Fools!!

Yes I agree it's very rare to come across a perfectly cooked egg, this egg was runny all the way through the white wasn't white in places just clear goo and the yolk wasn't cooked at all you could see the clear fluid around it, whilst not acceptable they were very busy and I was wondering if they had targets to meet, when queues start building, as I had a discussion earlier with someone on the checkouts at tesco as I commented how rushed I normally felt at sainsburys's at the checkout, who then said they have so long to get a customer through otherwise they are sanctioned, I can't remember exactly what he said but it seemed like a lot of other professions out there where the whip is cracked and if you don't perform quick enough there's no reward !

I thought it was just me.

Poached eggs especially seem to be a stumbling block everywhere.

I sent the tuna back twice at the wayfarer in the same night because the egg they dumped on top was completely raw.

The first is possibly forgivable but the replacement seemed to be taking the yolk a bit too far.

I think poaching an egg is even easier than frying. When you poach them the yolk takes even longer to cook, so it's eaiser to have all the white cooked and keep the yolk runny. Fools I tell you. FOOLS! ;)

Just come back from lunch here. It is entirely as expected for that kind of place. Reasonable food, reasonable service. It is surprisingly expensive though. Over £10 for a basic burger.

I went there for the first time this time yesterday. It was OK; nothing to write home about. Possibly a bit pricey, though the service was good considering it was quite busy. Would probably carry on past it to the Hollybush next time.
