Saw a sign positioned a few yards after you have driven through the roadwork lights at Weeping Cross ..... 'Red light cameras in action'.

There was a bloke sitting on a chair next to the Cannock Road ones, operating them. When I walked back he was busy texting or something on his mobile phone, the lights were on green for the traffic coming down the Cannock Road onto the island and stayed on for ages. Traffic all cleared, no more cars in sight in the road approaching those lights for ages, but he was engrossed with his phone and the lights stayed on green ! . Quite a few of another of the 4 queues could have started through their lights in that time.

Bloody ridiculous again at Weeping Cross roadworks tonight. I thought the man was supposed to be there controlling the lights to keep the traffic flowing at it's best. Just had a walk past again...3 blokes in yellow jackets standing chatting by the traffic lights controls on Cannock Road, the lights went to green, the whole massive line of traffic went through, then the lights stayed on green again for ages after with no cars in sight to go through them! And all this while there are 3 other massive queues having to sit on red lights.

Yesterday in Parliament...

Jeremy Lefroy Conservative, Stafford

May we have a debate on the co-ordination and efficiency of roadworks undertaken by the utilities? At the moment, Stafford is often brought almost to a standstill by necessary work that is not being done in the most efficient and effective manner.
